At 645am ET travelling West to East my son and i watched a meteor from our west at approximately 1200-1500 feet agl descending. As it passed in front of us, it was about 300 feet above the ground. It was still glowing green. As it kept getting closer to the lake, the green died out. We saw it clearly breaking up at this point. The second most interesting point was the US CG ship was about 500 yards or less away from where it fell into the lake. Was the USCG there because this was a satellite or some other object that the US government knew was falling from orbit? As we approached the area of the ship, they quietly left the area.
North of Buffalo, on Lake Ontario. Lats and Longs recorded. I believe my son will be scuba diving to find it

Interesting. Friday morning, October 7 I was heading east on I-90 through Amherst Ohio. Approximately 4:40 a.m I noticed up and off to my right which would be due south of Lake Erie, a star like object make a vertical dive. Not more than a second or 2 and then nothing. I didn’t think much of it till now when my son commented that people at school were talking about it. If there is anyone else that witnessed this please comment since I’d like to here more about it.

I was eastbound between Nairne Center and Sudbury Ontario about 5am Thursday October 6th 2016 when everything around me lit up bright white. Then I saw a fireball zooming along overhead with orange sparks flying off. It gave a big burst of light and sparks and the sky went dark again.

Driving north in Rochester NY on my way to work at about 6:45 a.m. Eastern time. Looked yellowish/orange, initially with a nice tail. To me, it looked like a one scoop ice cream cone on it’s side traveling scoop first. From my perspective, a pretty good size. Lasted, what seemed like, seconds. Eventually got thinner, at the end looked like a “shooting star” and finally burnt out in a flash.

    Very nice experience.
