Noticed a bright light emerge from SE corner of the sky, as it traveled it began to turn GREEN and turn even a brighter green as it traveled. I called out to my boyfriend who was standing a yard or so away to come look at this thing. As it traveled over halfway across the sky, with a long tail, it then split into two equal halves and turned white. The latter half (trailing half) shot back a ways and disappeared into the south easterly direction. The front piece continued to travel north westerly shining white and it went behind my neighbors tree and I could not follow it further through the sky.
