I was sitting in my car, after having arrived at home from a trip. I was luckily facing in just the right direction for it to be obvious to me. For a split second I thought it might be an aircraft because of its path (parallel to the ground) but it had a trailing tail and then burnt out at the end. I spend a good deal of my time when I'm outdoors looking at the sky.
