Reports Report 4848cb (Event 4848-2019)

Observer
Name Chris M
Experience Level 4/5
Remarks The meteor appeared in the southwest just as the Sun was setting. Its path was nearly horizontal, and heading westward. It was lower and brighter than Jupiter (which I could see at the same time), and at least as bright as the first-quarter Moon (also visible, but not in the same "eyeball view" as the meteor). I heard several pops and crackles, similar to firework noises, separated from the brightening "pulses" of the meteor by a short delay. The meteor left a glowing train that persisted for a second or two.
