Remarks My wife was driving me home from the railway station last night after a lectue on the Cassini-Huygens mission at the British Interplanetary Society in London, when she saw the fireball streak across from right to left in front of her. I then saw it from the left side window as we got to the top of the road. It was high above the trees moving to the left. At first I thought it might have been an aircraft, but when my wife said she had seen something a bit like a firework rocket, I realised it was probably a meteorite as it had a short tail and was travelling in a straight line below the clouds. I estimated the cloud level to be at about 10,000ft and the meteorite to be about 5,000ft. I checked our dashcam this morning, but the fireball was too high for thee camera. The time however is accurate at 23:00:28
