It was larger and slower than a shooting star. At first I thought it was an aircraft, then I was thinking missile or something had burned up in the atmosphere.

It went from a light yellow streak to what appeared like a dark object framed in orange. I wasn't thinking explosion at the time, but I do think it got a little wider as it disappeared, so maybe.
