Remarks | The red light had a soft whitish trail behind it in a V-shape as it streaked across the sky. It did not appear to be moving especially fast and the trail was visible the whole time. The trail is the reason I noticed it, like it was possibly burning up in the earth's atmosphere. At the end the light disappeared and then a second later the trail disappeared, as well. I have never seen anything like this before. EDIT: I just found a video that someone else took of the same event - https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjFhtvJl73WAhVE4mMKHcJCCPQQtwIIJjAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DxL_ZvEl4fos&usg=AFQjCNGDrTz1LvXJKeoNxjDRWmvy_o8MhQ It's not a very good or clear video but you can see the trail. |
