I thought it was an airplane coming in due to the location, however it was flying away from me and I should not have seen the headlamp. Then I saw another airplane coming in properly and knew it was not an airplane. Next I saw the flares coming off the back and it winked out

small flares trailing behind it. Same color as the fireball. It was above the airport and the coloration was similar to a airline headlamp but going the wrong direction and had the flares falling off of it
