This was a very interesting sighting. I do not know much about meteors but at first it was very uncomforting to see. Once finding out what it was is actually valueable to see.

The ball of light appeared with a tail of what looked like a flame that followed. It lasted for about 10 - 15 seconds.

While I was driving I noticed a glare which I thought was a glare from my windshield but then I noticed that is was a large ball of light with a tail of lights that followed. I live by a mini airport and thought it was a plane at first. Then I thought crap is a plane about to crash because the ball of light started traveling faster then it somewhat exploded. Like if I were using a sparklers from the Fourth of July. I hope I am explaining this right. I have seen one before in my youth and that scared me but this one was much brighter and closer. There were many others on the freeway that witnessed this because we all almost came to a complete stop.
