I may not have seen the actual meteor/fireball itself. I saw a bright white flash very similar to a camera flash. It lit up the sky north/northeast from my site. The whole sky lit up very much like heat lightening in the summer.

All I saw was a flash of bright white light, very similiar to a camera flash and the sky lit with the flash. I did not see any movement or trains. It lit up the far sky past the tree line straight north or northeast.
