| Remarks | fireball did not 'go out' just lost it past the treeline after 8 seconds. fire tail was 8 to 10 times as long as the width at the head. Speed seemed very slow as the object felt like it was less than 25 miles away... I had the sense there was roiling smoke mixed in with the flame trail. I truly expected to hear a catastrophic crash within a minute of it going out of sight. my best interpretation was a ww2 spitfire with it's engine massively on fire, flames obscuring the entire body of the aircraft. but trajectory was relatively flat. My reference wall of my house is on a NW line and flight path seemed slightly out of parallel, slightly more northerly. |
