Remarks | Initially I thought this couldn't be an asteroid or comet because it was still very light out (approx. 6:10 pm), but I could very plainly see the fireball. I wondered if it was a plane, rocket or some other space debris falling to the ground. It definitely came from a very high altitude, falling at a very fast velocity. I was driving but it caught and held my attention for the full 5 seconds max until it burned out near the horizon (or hit the ground?). I noticed the man in the car next to me also peering out his windshield with the same look of disbelief - so I wasn't seeing things! :) |
