Remarks I didn't understand the question about how long the train was...so that data might be off. I'm not sure how to quantify the length in degrees using my fist...I just didn't get it! Other than that, we were walking down a sidewalk on 28th and it just appeared in the sky, headed in a very definite direction which appeared to be easterly. The fireball's brightness faded as we watched it head east and toward the earth. We were unable to see it disappear fully because houses were in the way. It was very dim when we last saw it on tippy toe. The train was glowing the entire time, like watching a slowly falling star that just streaks for a long time and you still see the streak after the star bit has gone out. The ball itself looked like it was truly flaming, on fire. I looked at other people's reports and they appear to be for Saturday September 3rd. It was not yet midnight when we saw it. Our route is very familiar and I know how far we were from home. We were timing the walk because we were expecting company to come in late (around midnight). I just want to say the location is very accurate and the timing is also very accurate. I will ask my sister to also fill out a report as her data may be slightly different.
