Reports Report 3052a (Event 3052-2016)

Experience Level 1/5
Remarks This was definitely NOT an airplane, or shooting star. It was amazing. The golden red glow trail behind it. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was beautiful. It was very quiet, late at night. My dad being a navigator in WWII taught me about the constellations, and planets, and even when a satellite would travel by. So I always look up at the sky when I am outside a night just to look at the stars, especially now that my Dad is gone. This was a total beautiful surprise. He also taught me about different airplanes. We both worked at the Space Center at KSC. I am no expert, but this was something special last night!!

Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks out of nowhere a flash of orange yellow ball of light flashed in the sky, traveled with a trail, and the ball was fragmenting as if breaking apart a little. This was right over my head, and it traveled in an arc from west to east.
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks a large (larger than star, or aircraft light) bright ball suddenly appeared over my head (I had just happened to look up at the stars as I was letting my dog out). This ball appeared to burst a little in size, then streaked with a trail in an arc with the ball seeming to break up some. This lasted at least 4 seconds. Then disapeared.
