| Remarks | I was driving on the southbound 405 freeway when I saw the fireball. It appeared to be quite large, although I don't know how far away it was. It appeared to be spinning, and I could see large flames on it. It seemed to come so close to the horizon that I thought it was going to hit the surface, but disappeared from my vision before meeting the horizon. I could only describe it as thrilling. Others on the freeway saw it too, I suspect, because traffic speed reduced from 70 mph to maybe 40 mph. Unfortunately, I was so caught up in the experience, that I did not not the exact time or place I was during the observation. |
