Remarks | My sister and I were hiking on the Pacific Crest Trail and were camping high in Seavey Pass (9000ft+). The night sky was clear and dark to the south, and my view to the south was totally unobstructed. It was an amazing experience to watch the fireball silently lumber across the night sky. The following morning, we met another hiker on the trail and mentioned that he and others in his camp shared a similar experience. |

Remarks | As I watched the fireball going across the sky, I could see a long, dim reddish glowing tail, and I could also see glowing red fragments appearing to break off the ball. The ball also seemed to brighten and slightly flicker and pulsate in its brightness. |
