| Remarks | The fireball was behind me as I drove NNW, roughly SSE. Nearly the entire sky seemed to be as bright as day with an immediate flash. What I initially thought was sheet lightning, was actually a huge fireball as I turned back over my shoulder to look. Just as the fireball dissipated, I noticed what seemed to be one or two fragments ahead of me. They seemed to appear about 50-60 degrees overhead, and disappear just above the NNW horizon. |
