Reports Report 2605ch (Event 2605-2016)

Observer
Name Milton L
Experience Level 5/5
Remarks Very bright at first, much dimmer (0 for each) after fragmenting & moving to E hills. Extremely slow--I counted seconds for just over a minute. Time is local. No sound heard, but I was at a 76 station near a busy intersection. I authored the first astronomy curriculum for LA county school district's Upward Bound program, using a low-tech/low-cost approach that was carried on by others in the area. The only other fireball/bolide I've seen was vertical into the S. Pacific off of the Cook Islands, that I reported to the BBC's "Seeing Stars" in the mid-90s. This sighting had much greater width, as well as brightness. (I have seen a meteor fragment near the zenith, but much dimmer, with almost no width.)
