I was watching TV with the lights off when the event happened. I noticed out of the corner of my eye something lighting up in the sky. When I turned to look out our picture window, I saw a yellowish-white light the shape of half moon and about the same size slowly fade away. I think what I saw was the terminal flash with the bottom half partially obscured by a band of low lying clouds. I think the clouds were what caused it to be half moon shape. I did not see the trail behind it because I only saw the first part of the event out of the corner of my eye and it took me several seconds to get outside and take a closer look.
