I'm not sure what I saw, but since I heard that others had seen something in the sky at about the same time I saw the strange light I thought maybe we saw the same thing,

I saw light from an unknown source flash in a cloud like way in the tress behind my house. It was not like lighting, it was more like a car headlight sort of streak across the fir trees. I couldn't place the light until I heard that others had seen a meteorite.
