Remarks When I fist saw it, coming over houses from the east, it was one piece (I thought it was a firework at first) - As it continued heading west, I'd say when it was roughly north of me about 20 seconds after first sighting (by now I'd realised definitely not a firework!) parts stated detaching from it, and continuing in the same trajectory before some of them extinguishing.. The main ball and the bigger parts carried on roughly due west together before disappearing over the western horizon. I think about 40 seconds from sighting to disappearing from view. I must add, my viewpoint was in a shallow valley, so both 'horizons' were well above horizontal.
