Remarks | I have never have seen anything like this. It was bright enough that I noticed it out of my peripheral vision and had to turn my head for a full few seconds of view before it "went out." During meteor shower viewing, anything happening on my peripheral vision usually goes unnoticed or "goes out" so rapidly that I wonder if I imagined it. This one was unique in the size and/or low altitude, reddish-orange colour, and brightness. Even the apparent low angle trajectory seemed somewhat unique. Several other people who saw it were also astonished. |
