Reports Report 3618n (Event 3618-2015)

Observer
Name Christian R
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I have never before seen any sort of object fall down in a seemingly perfectly straight line like this. I am not sure if this was because of my particular position in relation to the object or what, but its was a very neat sight. Although the sighting was fairly quick, it seemed to travel somewhat slower than any other meteor or shooting star I've seen before. After looking online throughout some forums and other sites for a possible explanation, I found other people who have at other times witnessed very similar sightings of a bright green light falling straight down from the sky. These were sometimes referred to as "fireballs".

Remarks A thin green glowing train which was about the same width if not smaller than the "tip" of the falling object. It remained a consistent width, without getting thinner or thicker in any areas, until it disappeared. The train faded fairly quickly as the object headed straight down. I did not see any other noticeable colors in the train that I can recall. Unfortunately, as the object headed toward the ground the object went out of my sight at about 30 degrees up from the horizon due to trees that blocked my view.
