Remarks | During a meteor session between 23:47 and 04:17 UT I saw a bright flash at the western horizon. Quickly I turned my head into that direction and saw the last part of the fireball with a short terminal flare of magn. -6. I think the bright flash was magn. -8. It is also captured by a all sky camera located at Benningbroek. It must be a huge event above England! As seen from my location the fireball was about 5 degrees west of Altair (at that time the star was 4,5 degrees above the horizon) and moved from 6 to 2 degrees. But I only saw the last moments of the fireball, so the starting point is higher in the sky.. |
