my husband and I both witnessed it. We can't comment on sound because we were in a noisy traffic jam with our windows rolled up. Lots of cars were honking. But I feel privileged and in utter awe of what we happened to be in the right place at the right time to experience viewing. I've never seen anything like it. My husband says he thought it was a meteor.

Remarks
It was as bright as a 4th of July sparkler and made an arc shaped trajectory, sparking as it went: much more vivid and longer viewed than a "shooting star". I got very excited and thought a rocket was coming in or something. it became bigger /fatter/brighter towards the end and then broke into millions of little Sparks and disappeared as quick as it came.
