| Remarks | It was substantially larger than a usual meteor with a well defined tail, but it was about half the size of any fireball I have seen before. The tail was about 12 to 15 times longer than the width of the meteor. One remarkable thing about this one was that the sky was lit for as long as we saw it just like lightning, that white/purple/blue sky color one sees during a lightning flash. My partner did not see the object, but was walking along the same road. His back was turned to the event. He said the blue/white light around him lit the trees and seemed like a it came from a spotlight above and the angle changed as though an aircraft was flying over, then downward. |
