I don't know if this is what you mean but I saw bright white "ball" with red tail , then the tail wasn't there and then it came back and disappeared behind the trees across the street. I thought is was a plane heading toward the airport in trouble - really low. When I turned the corner - same direction it was going - I didn't see it again.
