After the object flew over head it was just above the skyline when the thing blew up in a extremely bright flash of light.

massive pure white flash "like a atom bomb flash" that lit up the sky, flash lasted just a split second but after the flash I could see a red ball of fire burn out. From my perspective it looked like this thing blew up over or very near the Portland Airport.
