I was driving home and my passenger and I both saw the streak. It was just above the top of my windshield when it started and went down towards the horizon, but remained far above it. It ended half way down my windshield. Hope this helps. It was one of the best fireballs I've seen in years.

it was very quick and looked like a small explosion like you might see with a cherry bomb, except it was high in the sky.
