This sighting was over the Pacific Ocean. I was standing on the beach about 1/4 south of Paradise Cove Cafe in Malibu. It started pretty low as an extremely bright big white ball. Then it traveled west and developed a long dense smokey trail. About 5 seconds in, orangish-red flames briefly outlined the rear of the ball. The ball went on for 3 more seconds before it and it's trail began to fade just over the horizon/surface of the ocean.

Remarks
A long dense smoke trail followed the entire time. After the fireball disappeared, it faded away, from rear to front at almost the same speed the fireball traveled.
