Remarks | I was driving N on 1-75 between North Port and Venice, in the middle of a reserve area, and I saw what I thought was a huge fireworks display, then I realized the angle wasn't right and it was moving too fast, laterally, and the path was parallel to the earth. It seemed very close. Also, the colors were purple, green, and bright white/yellow. I realized it was a meteor and awaited a loud boom in a nearby field, but I was in a moving vehicle, listening to my radio and did not hear anything. I thought for certain a nearby field would catch on fire. |
