Remarks We were driving east on I-40 just outside of Amirillo when we saw the fireball. I've never seen anything like it! I had just seen a "shooting star" and was commenting to my husband that it was the second of the night. Then I glanced toward the south and saw the fireball moving straight down toward the horizon. There a small explosion then nothing. I googled "fireball" assuming it was a meteor and found this website.
