| Remarks | I was in my car so can't tell if there was sound. I am retired military so thought to myself ("that can't possibly be a flare - it's so bright!!! It's even bright for a meteor.") Also, I had the impression from where I was that it would have been directly above this location: intersection of Oakwood Road & S. Van Doren, Alexandria, Virginia. I know that's not the case because it had to be a meteor, but it's what it looked like from my vantage if it were it a "flare" in combat ops, that's about where I would have guessed it to be - just above S. Van Doren & Oakwood area. |

| Remarks | It was dusk, I was driving west/sw on I-495 (near the Eisenhower on-ramp); It had a bright green track that seemed to remain and just above the horizon it became a very bright ball with a star shape to it. Then it instantly disappeared, just above the tree line. beautiful. |
