Remarks | This was by far the biggest "shooting star" I've ever seen. I live in excellent viewing conditions – no nearby ambient light, lots of open sky – and this was multicolored, about 1/4 the perceptual size of a full moon, with a fat, tapered trail that was lit up during the whole event. I'm guessing at 7pm; I'd say about an hour after dark. I happened to be with a friend, who saw it too. |
