Remarks I am a student at Holy Cross and I saw this with a friend walking back from our first creative writing club meeting… it happened in a blink of an eye. I ended up going back to my room and wrote a poem about it, thinking it was my first shooting start sighting. A Sinking Star I stumbled upon a shooting star tonight. It bolted by, bound for a destination unknown. Will I make a wish . . . This is the first time I’ve seen such a star. It traveled from top to bottom, from north to south, from up to down. It didn’t shine or produce a glimmer, It just whistled by without a sound. The star has tangled my mind. Maybe the star was not shooting, but sinking. Sinking from north to south, from top to bottom, from up to down, from seen to unseen. Turns out it was a fireball… oh well!
