Remarks | The time indicated is approximate. The sun had set and the sky was darkening but still bright blue. I believe the streak was also bluish, but may have been more white than I am remembering. It caught my eye at (I estimate) 30-45 deg elevation. I only briefly saw the "head" before it was obscured by trees. The "tail" did not persist, but was gone before I got anyone else's attention. It was bright, but not bright enough to draw your attention if you weren't already looking in its direction. I was facing east, and I believe the meteor (?) was headed pretty much due east. |
