Reports Report 2187eu (Event 2187-2014)

Observer
Name I B
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I live up on a hill with a view of the entire Albany capitol region. I saw something fly across the sky that looked like a comet but much brighter. I got up to look out the window and saw what appeared to be a fire and a lot of smoke near the area where I saw the flash- just slightly south of downtown Albany. I contacted several local police departments to report the fire. They couldn't find the fire, so they sent police over to "check on my well-being". The police arrived at my house expecting to find a crazy person, but when they saw the view out my window, they immediately pulled out their phones and began contacting several local police and fire departments, giving them more details about the possible location of the fire we could see. I haven't heard any updates yet on what they ended up finding. I'm not sure if the fire incident is related to the fireball/object I saw in the sky, but I thought it would be important to share.
