Remarks | I was driving east on I-70 just west of the I-435 intersection in Kansas City, Kansas. I viewed the fireball for maybe 2 seconds before it disappeared or burnt out. I've seen a number of shooting stars in my life but shooting stars from my experience are considerably faster than what I saw. This one had a blueish, white color and was moving much slower. It may have streaked for a longer distance in the sky but my eyes just happened to catch a few seconds of it before it disappeared above the horizon. It had a short tail but no smoke most likely because it was after dark and would not have been able to see the smoke anyway. |
