I'm not sure how big fireballs can be. I was driving when I saw it and, in trying to find a comparison in size to the ball itself (and trying to figure out if I'd just seen a firework headed in the wrong direction) I noticed the ball of the fireball was the same size (in the sky) as the traffic light. That traffic light was about 10 feet away from me. Where I saw the potential fireball was back further down the road where it was quite dark.
