Observer
Name John C
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks Our only experience is loving to find, watch, and see. I will spend more time waiting and exploring a broader area other than, "oh, it's not right here at this exact time". We will spend the time looking up info and learning ourselves.

Remarks Glowing spear, the end of tail (tip of spear) pointed between 1 and 2 o'clock while the front of the fireball traveling downward in the direction between 7 and 8 o'clock. Halfway between the visible time span the fireball (meteor) flashed and the tail (glowing train) looked separated after the flash about halfway point of the entire length of the object. Within a few fractions of a second at which point we could see the tail (train) separated from original object, the front of the object had several slight flashes and what looked like tiny balls of fire which separated outward off of the object though never in front of the object or its path of travel. A few fractions of a second after that sight the object began traveling behind the top of a tree line obstructing our view, although we all verbalized to each other the object seemed to burnout or vanish just BEFORE we would have lost view of it due to the tree line. There were 5 of us in our truck traveling home (South) and at the point we saw the object burnout or vanish we were facing in the direction of Rt. 97 S., Westminster and Baltimore, MD. The object was very close we waited for a sound because to us it looked like it had to end its travels somewhere in Maryland. No sound occurred that we heard, after turning off the radio when we originally noticed the object in the sky.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks Began with slight but fast flickering and then a fast bright flash all occurring together in fractions of a second, not lasting longer than 1 second. (The Flashes)
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks After the flashes, I would say between 5 and maybe 8 burning fragments, they burnt out quickly and honestly our main attention was on the much larger traveling object, like we ma be relatively close to its landing point.
