| Remarks | This was the largest, longest, slowest moving fire ball I have ever seen with the exception of Hale-Bopp in the 90's. I was inside watching for the moon rise. The fireball originated in the same direction as the moon would be rising. It was so large that it took a second for me to register that it was actually a celestial body. It traveled horizontally across the sky and was still bright and going when it moved behind trees to the NW of me. It was visible to me for several seconds.before it went behind the trees. I had no sense that it was fading or finished if I could have just seen beyond..... Amazing event! If there was any sound, I would not have heard it from inside. |
