I was looking in the direction of Arcturus on Bootes when it appeared from above and slightly to the left (ENE) it seemed to mildly pulsate in brightness. There were thin clouds in that direction and it showed through them easily. Just as it disappeared two flashes of light exposed the ground in the distance. It was very large and bright.

I saw two rapid flashes like lightning just before it disappeared at about 5° Altitude that appeared to light up the ground in the distance.
