Reports Report 5248ae (Event 5248-2026)

Observer
Name Kurt K
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks My first thought when I saw it, was that it might have been some space trash entering the atmosphere. I also thought it might have been a comet, but, I would assume astronomers would know one was coming. Meteor was my next guess. I have seen a meteor enter the atmosphere back in PA in the late 1990s and this was nothing like that, At that time, it was a bright flaming ball that was shedding pieces. This sighting was nothing like that. I did take a still photograph and a short video, with my phone, but, neither can be seen. They exist on the phone, but do not stop trying to download and they display a warning that "This isn't a supported file type" and claim to be "Device only".....I've never had that happen with any photo or video I've ever taken. It's frustrating.
