Remarks I have never seen such a long-lasting phenomenon in my life. I was lying on a mattress on the roof of my car in the yard, looking up at the moonless sky. The shooting star, or whatever it was, began for me in the constellation Cassiopeia. When it started, I just happened to be looking exactly in that direction. It was brighter than any shooting star I had ever seen in my life. It shot straight through the center of my field of vision and was traveling for several seconds. I had to tilt my head even further back to follow its path. It flew across almost the entire visible sky and left a small trail behind it while visible. I just lay there, unable to believe what I had just witnessed. It took me a moment to process what I had seen. Lying there with goosebumps, it seemed so improbable that I seriously wondered whether what had just happened could really be possible. I had never experienced anything like it in my life...
