| Remarks | On Sunday, June 14, 2026, at approximately 10:28 PM Central Daylight Time, I observed a very bright green fireball from Tuckaway Townhomes in Johnsburg, Illinois. I was looking generally south. From my viewpoint, the object traveled from east to west, moving left to right along a downward-sloping path toward the southwest. It appeared brighter than the full Moon and remained visible for approximately 3 to 5 seconds. The fireball fragmented near the end of its path and then burned out or disappeared low in the sky. I did not hear a sound, sonic boom, or delayed noise. I cannot confidently estimate its precise elevation above the horizon, but it appeared relatively low in the southern sky and descended lower as it traveled westward. |
