Remarks My friend and I were testing his ~5" Meade refractor scope in prep for a mid hudson star party friday. We'd been outside since 2030EST dialing it in. I was sitting looking north looking at satellites when the fireball occured. It was startling bright, slow, and fuzzily wide.

Remarks Faint contrail-like, not glowing. I had binoculars on the path and it faded quickly. May possibly have been persistent vision as the fireball was bright.

Remarks The path was like a 4th of July sparkler, fuzzy. It was slow moving and had a wide track compared to a typical meteorite. It did not fragment into separate pieces with their own tracks.
