Reports Report 3922b (Event 3922-2026)

Observer
Name Tony K
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I don't know this was a meteor strike, but it definitely sounded louder and different than an M80 going off. The flash was bright white and lasted long enough for me to have time to physically turn around 180* and see the final flash expand and disappear. It looked to me light it was just above the fence line or maybe the house. It looked extremely close, I thought it was just 5 houses down. The boom came a moment later. It was loud enough to bring people to my street from a couple blocks away asking what happened. Hope my report helps. Thank you.

Remarks I was facing away, it got really bright behind me, I turned around and saw a blinding flash that was easily as big as one of the backyards here. Very shortly afterward, I heard/felt the boom. At first, I thought it might have been a firework someone setting off in their backyard, but a neighbor who was outside reported seeing a white streak in the sky a moment before he heard the explosion. Fire dept found no fire or signs of explosives.
