Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to report an unusual aerial observation I made on April 13, 2026, at 03:44 UTC, while aboard a commercial flight (!) near the coast of Naples, Italy.
The object appeared as a large, bright cone of light moving rapidly across the sky from south-southwest to north-northeast. It remained visible for approximately 40 seconds and fragmented into multiple distinct glowing pieces during its passage. Based on its appearance, trajectory, and duration, I believe this was a spacecraft or rocket body reentry event.
Observation details:
• Date/Time: April 13, 2026, 03:44 UTC
• Altitude 47.000 ft
• Location: Near Naples, Italy (Tyrrhenian Sea coast)
• Aircraft ground speed: ~500 knots
• Object direction: South-Southwest to North-Northeast
• Duration: ~40 seconds
• Appearance: Large luminous cone, fragmented into multiple pieces
I can provide you with the following materials if requested
.) 2 photograph of the remaining condensation
.) 1 KML file of the flight path (of the airplane I was aboard) with position data at the time of the sighting
.) I am also attaching a sketch indicating the viewing direction at the time of observation
As I am personally very curious about what exactly this object was, I would greatly appreciate it if you could inform me of your findings once the event has been identified.
I hope this data is of use to your team. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information.
Best regards,
