| Remarks | I was at my telescope and looking through my finderscope in the same general direction but higher in the sky toward Acturus when I saw an exceptionally bright flash and pulled away from the scope and saw, without doubt, the largest fireball I have ever witnessed. I am estimating but am sure it was quite close to 00.30am, perhaps no more than a few minutes before this but I’m sure it was 00.30. I have seen many meteors given what I do for a hobby and only earlier this year, I captured what was the brightest meteor I’d seen passing Orion. It was extremely bright and I lickily caught it with my Nikon taking long exposures of Orion. However, tonight’s meteor relegated that one to minor. |
