Reports Report 2175e (Event 2175-2026)

Observer
Name Laura P
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I was driving home (I was a passenger in the front seat) and thought I was looking at an aircraft coming in really fast and realized it was a bright fireball. I’ve seen “falling stars” during known meteor showers (ex: Leonids) and those look smaller and further away. This fireball was very fast coming in almost parallel to our car on the road moving about 55 mph. It was in a downward trajectory and just fizzled above the horizon as it sped past us in an easterly direction. It appeared to be the size of a small Cessna like plane relative to its position in the sky.
